What to do if you can’t make it to a Rental Inspection.
The first step to renting a property in Melbourne is making it to the Open for Inspection. This is usually the most difficult part for our clients. They’re either interstate, overseas, busy with other commitments or have two properties they want to inspect - which frustratingly are open for inspection at the same time.
Hearing these reasons are far too common for the Rental Inspect team.
If you can’t make it to the inspection, then the property managers won’t let you apply for the property, which means there is little to no chance of you getting the property.
So, if you can’t be there yourself, here are a few suggestions for you:
Friends or Family
If you can’t make the open for inspection yourself then it’s time to call in some favours from those that you trust. Asking a friend or family member to attend the inspection on your behalf is one way of making sure your attendance is marked off at the inspection.
They can inspect the property on your behalf but make sure they know what you’re looking for and keep an eye out for the things you want out of your rental property.
Rental Inspect
If you can’t get your friends and family to attend on your behalf or you want a more detailed service, they using a Rental Inspection Service like ours is another great alternative. When one of the Rental Inspect team attends an inspection on your behalf, we can video call you from the inspection and also provide you with videos, photos and a detailed report of the property.
All of the application instructions will then be sent directly to you so you can decide if you like the property or not.
